FRENCH Bureaucracy – the paper needed!
The Euro Mortgage Shop is here to make applying for a French Mortgage as painless as possible, we suggest you plan ahead, because all lenders insist on all the documentation before providing a formal offer letter.
On submitting a full application the following documentation will be required by the lender for each applicant;
- Copy of Passport.
- Copy of Utility Bill showing name and home address.
- Copy of Marriage Certificate. (If applicable).
- Copy of Divorce Certificate. (If applicable).
- Copy of 3 month's Personal Bank Statements showing salary and any monthly loan payments.
- Copy Annual statements for all loan and mortgage accounts.
- P60 latest or last 2 years tax return.
- Last 3 month's pay-slips.
- If you are Self-employed, copy of your last 2 years accounts, attestation from your accountant confirming your income (should you feel this would assist), and a copy of your latest two tax declarations.
- For 2 people purchasing together (married couple/ partner/ business partner): the mortgage application must be made in both names and signed by both parties.
- 2 x Insurance Questionnaires completed and signed.
- Reservation Contract or Compromis de Vente signed by Purchaser and Seller.
- If you are carrying out improvement you will need a copy of any plans and estimates for the works.
- You will also need a French Bank account, before drawing the mortgage. A RIB (RELEVE D’IDENTITE BANCAIRE – contains personalised details of the bank account i.e. IBAN number and Swift code) will also be required.
If you plan to purchase through an SCI (see www.notaires.fr) you will also need further documentation relating to the SCI;

- Statutes of the SCI
- RIB (RELEVE D’IDENTITE BANCAIRE – contains personalised details of the bank account i.e. IBAN number and Swift code ) from the SCI Bankers.
